Tecla Tesnau is the force behind Ottobar, Baltimore’s longest-running music venue and one of Rolling Stone’s best rock bars in the country. A punk at heart, Tecla brings decades of music magic, from the Sushi Café days to her current reign as Ottobar’s ringleader. This self-proclaimed “carny upbringing” inspired her taste in movies, music, and fashion. Tecla naturally became a huge John Waters fan, leading her to Baltimore as a teenager, where she worked at the beloved Fudgery. And yes, Sysco of Druid Hill fame was Tecla’s first boss. With deep roots in Baltimore’s creative scene, she’s all about championing weird, wild, and wonderful talent.
At the waterfront, Tecla brings a taste of Ottobar with the anarchist energy of Chromafix, the playful surf buzz of Bali Llamas, and the genre-defying brilliance of The Outcalls. Plus, don’t miss the legendary Punk Rock Flea Market, your go-to for hip gear, rare finds, and original art.
